Festival of Wellbeing – Day Five

There was lots going on today.

Highlights included:

Working with Finn Bush using lump charcoal, coloured inks and pastels the Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 children created flocks of colourful Wellbeing birds inspired by the art of Mark Hearld and Picasso and the music of colour.

Pre-Prep had a treat when Sarah Adie-Peters came in to do some Relax Kids sessions with them. Following a seven step plan: Move. Play. Stretch. Feel. Breathe. Believe. Relax.

All week the Pre-Prep children have enjoyed stories being read to them by members of staff, and today our Headmaster, Mark White, popped into Reception to read a story to them.

The children put on their own Concert of Wellbeing to raise money for Music as Therapy.
“Today’s concert of Wellbeing was a truly enriching experience for all – the players, the teachers and the audience. The children performed confidently and with poise. Those present felt uplifted by their joyful and engaging stage presence. Once again, we were treated to a huge variety of musical genres and instruments but they all had one thing in common: outstanding musicianship. A huge thanks to everyone involved and a very well done to all the children!

The day finished with our long looked forward to, Family Quiz Night. The theme this year was ‘Happy Hats’ and there were some pretty spectacular hat concoctions.
