EarthWyz – Miranda Krestovnikoff

Miranda Krestovnikoff gave us a fascinating talk about the oceans  and marine conservation from her viewpoint as a diver.

It was great to hear Miranda’s anecdotes and about her passion for scuba diving. She urged us to go out and experience what is happening to our planet; to realise the impact each of us are having on the environment and to make sure that we all take the steps we can to make it a better place. There are little decisions everybody can make every day regarding food miles, packaging and much more to lessen the impact of man on the environment.

All in all, it was a very interesting talk inspiring us to find small ways in which we can make a difference.

Quotes from the children:

“I really liked the talk and I enjoyed hearing lots of facts about birds. After the talk, I felt like I would like to help the earth and would like to work as a scuba diver.” Charlief B

“The talk was really interesting. I’ve heard loads of facts about birds before , but I never knew how much rubbish there was in the oean. When I get older, I would love to go scuba diving.” Will T

“Inspiring, informative and fun! A great insight into the work of a reporter making a difference and what it is like to be in the water with animals. I didn’t know about ‘ghost fishing’ until today!” Mr Kenny

“The talk was very interesting. I didn’t know how much rubbish there is under the sea!” Jaime Z

“I really enjoyed the talk, it was very interesting and entertaining. Now I know the importance of taking care of our coasts, thank you. I want to learn to scuba dive now!” Diego Z
